Community Involvement

Ocean Adventure Racing Northwest  Adam joins a host of explorers from the Pacific Northwest of North America.   Adam and his teammates believe that by pulling people together, anything is possible.

Right To Play  Adam is an athlete ambassador for Right To Play, an international organization that uses sport and play to aid in the development and rehabilitation of children and communities in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the world. Adam is involved in multiple local and international projects with Right To Play and recently returned from initiatives in Colombia and Peru. Adam will row across the Atlantic Ocean in December 2011 and hopes to raise $500,000 in support of Right to Play.

Canadian Olympic Committee (COC)  Adam is an elected Executive member of the COC Athletes Council. He works to represent the views and values of Canadian Olympic athletes across sports.

Clean Air Champions  As a board member of the organization Clean Air Champions, Adam speaks to youth across Canada about the connection and importance of taking care of human and environmental health.

Toastmasters Adam participates in various toastmaster clubs and activities in Victoria, BC. He has associations with the clubs Thunderbird Toastmasters and Master Motivators.

Elk Lake Boathouse Renewal As the honorary co-chair of the Elk Lake Boathouse renewal committee, Adam works with dedicated representatives from Victoria City Rowing Club, Rowing Canada Aviron, and the University of Victoria Vikes Rowing to raise funds for a boathouse renewal on Elk Lake.

Big Brothers and Sisters  Adam is a proud and long serving Big Brother with Big Brothers and Sisters.

Esteem Team   Adam inspires young children to pursue whatever they want in life, educating them in the process that leads to success.  He teaches school children how to set and realize goals in all areas of life.

David Suzuki Foundation  Adam is a Play it Cool Athlete Representative with the David Suzuki Foundation and Climate Project Canada. He works to encourage fellow athletes to compete and live in carbon neutral ways. Adam also speaks to communities about climate change and steps he is taking to live sustainably.

Canadian Athletes Now Fund (CAN Fund) Adam works with the CAN Fund to help raise funds to support Canadian Amateur athletes as they train for the winter and summer Olympic Games.

ACT Now BC  Adam works on behalf of ACT Now BC to encourage youth across British Columbia to adopt habits of healthy eating and active living.

BC Hydro Team Power Smart  Adam is a Team Power Smart Leader with BC Hydro. In this role, Adam shares his vision for sustainability with communities across British Columbia.

Whitehall Rowing Adam loves to fish for crabs in his whitehall rowing boat. He also helps promote these eco-friendly rowing boats that redefine the value of quality.

World Vision Sponsor Child  Adam has had a sponsor child with world vision since 1999.

London Rowing Club Adam is a long-standing member of the London Rowing Club in Ontario, Canada.

Rowing Canada Aviron Adam is a long-standing Member of Rowing Canada Aviron.

Greater Victoria Cycling Coalition  Adam loves to cycle and is a member of his local cycling coalition.

Canadian Schools Adam has spoken to thousands of youth across Canada and visits schools as often as possible. He speaks on topics of goal setting, achievement, personal development and finding fulfillment. Adam’s experience and messages motivates and empowers youth of all ages to reach for their potential.
